Safe, pure, firm.
The winners!
ATE shines with its ATE ceramic brake pads, according to the latest ADAC brake test. This brake specialist is a clear leader compared to the other five braking systems and impresses in the safety and durability categories.
ATE ceramic brake pads were the overwhelming winner with an overall rating of 1.7 (good). ATE Ceramic Comfort brake pads beat all the competition to come out on top in the renowned brake test of ADAC, the largest auto-moto association.
ATE is the brand of technology corporation and automotive industry supplier Continental. ADAC testers took a close look at six brake systems, consisting of brake pads and brake discs. The test candidates included one OEM product, various braking systems and sports brakes, and differently priced brakes or braking systems aimed at the aftermarket.
Highest score in the brake cycle test
It is a complete triumph. In the test, ATE ceramic brake pads in combination with ATE original brake discs were convincing in terms of wear and outperformed all other competitors by a wide margin. During the testing process, the braking systems had to prove themselves under realistic and highly stressed braking cycles. ATE ceramic brake pads have earned an overall rating of 1.0. Not only that, but the second-placed test candidate was more than one full mark behind the winner. In terms of braking distance, ATE Ceramic brake pads achieved the second best rating (1.5), confirming their positive friction properties.
Less wear and tear for greater environmental protection and comfort"ATE ceramic brake pads offer both: high safety, as shown by the brake test results, but also durability," says Maik Spengel, Product Manager at Continental. "We are particularly pleased that ten years after we received the Innovation Award at the Essen Tyre Fair, the independent ADAC has now also confirmed the outstanding performance of the ATE ceramic brake pads," adds Peter Wagner, who heads the OE and Aftermarket Business Unit at Continental.
